When IMPERIAL-Newton® offers a ratchet wrench, you can be sure it is not your typical light duty ratchet wrench. Instead, our industrial duty ratchet wrenches are manufactured from heat treated alloy steel or non-sparking safety tool alloys for ATEX compliant work – sharing the same pedigree as our impact sockets – and are available in the 3 most popular square drive sizes industrial applications demand: 3/4″ drive, 1″ drive and 1-1/2 drive ratchet wrenches for industrial size bolts. Also available are #5 spline drive and non-sparking ratchet models. All are generally in stock for fast shipment. Note that all ratchets are not intended for extremely high loading, given the fact torque must be transferred thru small teeth.

In order to facilitate the torque loads required to seat larger fasteners, these industrial ratchets feature long length handles to make work easier – so you don’t have to resort to using cheater bars and other unsafe tactics which can land you in trouble with OSHA and MSHA. Choose from the tougher 1-piece fixed handle 48″ models for higher loads, or select from one of the several 2pc ratchet head and handle combinations which feature interchangeable handles and finer tooth ratchets to enable working in close quarters with lower loads (300-400 ft-lbs). With so many handle length options to choose from, you can easily customize the length of the 2-piece ratchet wrench styles to fit the varying needs around your facility or within your application. The 2 piece design lets you swap out handles depending on the job, or replace heavily used tools with new handles or new ratchet heads as needed – without having to replace the entire tool. The 2pc design also features a finer tooth ratchet which makes it easier to grab the next tooth with minimum handle movement in tight spaces. These ratchets are made tough, but are still ratchet wrenches not breaker bars and have small internal components which make them unsuitable for applying final torque or extremely high loads. Ratchets are great for getting bolts hand tight before using a power tool to apply final loads, or when the application does not require excessively high torque values. Larger sized bolt applications will benefit from workers being able to use the same impact socket to set the bolt with a ratchet as they do for applying final torque, thereby eliminating the need for additional sockets or adapters. Also available upon request are #4 spline drive, and application-specific coatings and alloys such as stainless steel for applications which require the specific benefits these options provide.
